These terms explain how renting a car with Left Lane Rent a Car works, from who can drive to how payments, insurance, and fines are handled. We have served drivers in Dubai since 2012, and we keep our terms clear so there are no surprises at pickup or return.
By booking a vehicle with us, you agree to the conditions below. For cancellations and refunds, please also read our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
Rental Eligibility
- Drivers must be at least 21 years old.
- A valid driving license held for at least one year is required.
- UAE residents must present a valid UAE driving license.
- Tourists must present both a national driving license and an international driving permit.
- We may request additional documents, such as a passport or Emirates ID.
Vehicle Use
- Vehicles may be used for legal purposes only.
- Off-road driving, racing, towing, and any other misuse are strictly prohibited.
- Only drivers named on the rental contract may operate the vehicle.
Rental Period and Extensions
- The rental period begins at the time of vehicle pickup.
- Extensions must be requested at least 12 hours before the scheduled return time.
- Late returns may incur additional daily or hourly charges.
Rates and Payment
- The minimum rental period is 24 hours.
- Extra hours may be charged at one-third of the daily rate.
- Rates are quoted in AED and may change without prior notice.
- Rental and insurance charges are paid in advance, by cash or major credit card.
- Debit cards are not accepted for credit identification.
Fuel Policy
- Return the vehicle with the same fuel level it had at pickup.
- Refueling charges apply if the fuel level is lower on return.
Insurance and Liability
- Basic insurance is included unless stated otherwise.
- Full coverage applies only when the driver meets the minimum age and experience requirements.
- The renter is responsible for any damage caused by negligence, misuse, or traffic violations.

Salik, Tolls, and Fines
- Salik and toll charges are billed based on usage, at 5 AED per toll.
- All traffic and municipality fines during the rental period are the renter’s responsibility.
- An administrative fee of 40 AED may apply per fine.
Delivery and Collection
- Delivery and pickup are free within Dubai.
- Additional charges apply for locations outside Dubai but within the UAE.

Vehicle Condition
- Vehicles must be returned in the same condition they were rented in.
- Cleaning fees may apply for excessive dirt, smoking, or pet hair.
Accidents
- In the event of an accident, notify the police immediately.
- Do not move the vehicle until the police have issued a report.
- Without a police report, the renter is fully liable for all damages.
UAE-Only Use
- Vehicles must not be driven outside the UAE.
- Violations may result in penalties of up to AED 10,000, and the vehicle may be blocked at the border.
